Baseball set to start on Friday in Auburndale
Coach Jeff Johnson enters his 29th season at the helm of the Indians
AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Chipola Indians will open the 2025 season at the Ed Davis JUCO Kickoff Classic in Auburndale with a pair of games against FCSAA/Region VIII opponents on Friday, January 24. Chipola, the #12 team in the NJCAA Baseball Preseason Rankings will open with Seminole State College at 11 AM CST then follow with Polk State College at 2 PM CST. On Saturday, Chipola will take on Hillsborough Community College at 11 AM CST then face College of Central Florida before heading home. All games will be played at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.
Head coach Jeff Johnson enters his 29th season with a team looking to make a return to the JUCO World Series. The Indians fell in the FCSAA/Region VIII Championship game a season ago and will be looking to take that next step in getting back to Grand Junction, Colorado. The Indians return eight players from last year's squad that finished the season 36-19.
