Quick Start Helps Indians over SJR 12-5

An early lead helped Chipola Indians (15-3) defeat St. Johns River State 12-5 on Saturday. Chipola scored on a single by Brody Wofford, a single by Te'Kwaan Whyte, a double by Jose Caballero, and a single by Andrew Bechtold in the second inning to put up a six-spot.

Riley Cabral (3-0) earned the win. He tossed six innings, surrendering five runs, two hits, and striking out nine. Andrew Grogan came in relief and threw 3 shutout innings. 

Chipola had 15 hits in the game. Max Guzman, Jose Caballero, Reynaldo Rivera, Andrew Bechtold, Wofford, Chris Clayton, and Te'Kwaan Whyte each collected multiple hits. Whyte, Clayton, Wofford, Bechtold, Rivera, Caballero, and Guzman each managed two hits to lead the attack.
