The Lady Indians fall 6-5 in today's game against Central Florida.
The Lady Patriots were first on the board with a home run in the top of the second inning. Chipola was able to answer in the bottom of the third inning as Candela Figueroa brought Taylor Scala home from second base.
In the top of the fourth, Central Florida added two more runs, but the Lady Indians scored two of their own on Sydney Mclain's single in the bottom of the inning, which tied the score at 3-3.
The Lady Patriots started the fifth inning out with their second home run of the day and then scored two more, taking a 6-3 lead. However, Chipola wasn't going away and got two runs back in the bottom of the inning. Candela Figueroa hit a bomb to start things off and Lewin's hit was able to bring home another one. The score was 6-5 in favor of Central Florida heading into the sixth inning.
Defensively, the Lady Indians were able to hold Central Florida from scoring another run, but were unable to score themselves, ending the game at 6-5.
Figueroa led Chipola in hitting with two hits, a home run, and two RBIs. Haley Sandridge had two hits and Mclain had one hit and two RBIs. Lauren Finch, Eila Infante, Lewin, and Taylor Scala all had one hit for Chipola.
In the circle, Amy Woodham lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs. Brianna Bailey pitched three innings and allowed two runs on zero hits.
