Indians Split in Mississippi

The Indians suffered their first loss of the season this week in Mississippi, but bounced back with a win the following day.

On Monday, Chipola fell 97-87 to Southern Arkansas Tech.

Lat Mayen recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Ishan White had 19 points. Cheikh Faye had 15 points and six rebounds. Lance Erving added in 14 points.

On Tuesday, the Indians bounced back, picking up a 102-84 win over Southern Shreveport.

David Pierce was lights out from behind the arc, hitting nine three-pointers. He led the team with 35 points.

Ishan White scored 23 points, Cheikh Faye had 18 points, and Lance Erving had 12 points.

Some additional good news came for the Indians on Saturday as returning point guard, Malik Zachery, who had been out with injury, played in his first game of the season.

Chipola is back on the road this weekend with two games at Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida. On Friday, they’ll take on Palm Beach State, who has won their last seven games. On Saturday, they’ll face an undefeated Polk State team.

The Indians are back at home Dec. 6-7 as they host a classic at the Milt. They will play at South Georgia Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 and Polk State College at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. Tickets are $5 and are available at the gate. Appreciation Club members receive free entry with their pass.
