The Indians beat Gulf Coast State 85-68 in tonight's Homecoming game.
Ibrahima Sankare recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel Oladapo scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Bitumba Baruti scored 15 points with six rebounds and Keishawn Brewton had 10 points. Malik Zachery recorded seven assists on the night.
"We had a slow start tonight, but I challenged them at half and I am really happy with how they responded," said Coach Brendan Foley.
The Indians out-rebounded the Commodores 50 to 40, a lot of those coming in the second half.
"I thought we dominated the glass in the second half, which was one of the adjustments we wanted to make," Foley said.
Foley also said the fans were a huge difference.
"Homecoming is usually our biggest attendance of the season and I thought we really fed off the crowd in the second half," he said. "I love seeing the Milt full and can't thank the fans enough for their support tonight."
The Indians move to 22-3 (5-2) on the year and are back in action on Wednesday at Pensacola State.
Their next home game is Wednesday, Feb. 13 as they host Tallahassee.
