The Indians were back at home tonight and pulled out a 64-61 win over Pensacola State.
Bitumba Baruti recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Malik Zachery led the team on the boards with 12 rebounds and also dished out five assists. Keishawn Brewton and Daniel Oladapo both scored 11 points and Ibrahima Sankare added in 10 points.
"I'm really proud of our team for finding a way to win," said Coach Brendan Foley. "It wasn't a pretty game, but we made plays down the stretch."
Foley stressed how hard it is to win in the Panhandle Conference.
"Winning in this conference is never easy," he said. "I was proud we were able to pull out the W tonight and I think we got better as a team."
The Indians are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Gulf Coast State. Tip is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CST.
The next home game will be Wednesday, January 30 as Chipola hosts Northwest Florida State.
