The Indians finished their non-conference portion of the season with an 87-51 win over Shelton State.
Bitumba Baruti led Chipola with 18 points. Daniel Oladapo recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Keishawn Brewton added in 16 points and Cheikh Faye had 13 points with seven rebounds. Malik Zachery and LaQuan Butler both dished out five assists.
"I thought this was a good win against a very talented Shelton State team," said Coach Brendan Foley. "I thought it was important to end the non-conference schedule on a high note and I'm proud of how we executed our game plan and of our defensive effort tonight."
Foley is excited to start Panhandle Conference play and is hoping for a packed house on Wednesday night.
"It's always exciting to start conference play, but it's even more exciting when you have a top five team coming to town to open with," he said. "Tallahassee is 16-1 on the year and it should be a high-level game and hopefully fun to watch. We'd love to pack the Milt and have a great atmosphere!"
The Indians enter conference play with an 18-1 record. They'll host #4 Tallahassee on Wednesday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m. CST. Tickets are $5/adult, $2 12&under. Chipola students and Chipola Appreciation Club members receive free entry.
