Former Indians Playing Pro Basketball

Chipola's long basketball history has moved decades of student-athletes on to the Divison I level and many of those have gone on to play professionally. 

Courtesy of Sports IT Solutions, here's an update of former Indians playing professional basketball.

   #1. Mario Little (6'6''-G/F-87, played in 2005-08, plays pro in Croatia) led his Croatian team KK Zadar to a victory over the league outsider P.Olimpija (4-10) 84-80 in the ABA League last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Little scored 21 points and added 3 passes in 37 minutes. KK Zadar (5-9) is placed eighth in the ABA League. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. It's Little's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 14.2ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.3apg in 13 games he played so far.

   #2. Geron Johnson (6'3''-G-92, graduated '14, plays in Qatar) could not help the league outsider Al Rayyan (0-7) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Al Rayyan was edged 68-65 in a derby game by the higher-ranked Al Arabi (#4). Johnson recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 15 rebounds. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Johnson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 24.2ppg, 8.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.7spg. Johnson is a naturalized Lebanese.

   #3. Experienced Chanan Colman (6'3''-G-84, currently in Israel) contributed to a Beer Sheva's victory against the league outsider Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-10) 73-68 in the Israeli Winner League in Monday night's game. Colman recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in 28 minutes. Hapoel Beer Sheva (7-6) is placed fifth in the Winner League. This year Colman averages 8.7ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.4apg and 1.5spg in 13 games. He has also Israeli passport.

   #4. Kruize Pinkins (6'7''-F-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Italy) was not able to help Novipiu Casale (8-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Pinkins' very good performance the seventh-placed Novipiu Casale (8-7) was defeated 65-57 at home by the higher-ranked Eurotrend BI (#4) in the West group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 13 rebounds. This season Pinkins has very high stats. He averages 18.3ppg, 10.8rpg and 1.7apg.

   #5. Tra-Deon Hollins (6'2''-G-95, played in 2014-15, plays in the NBA G League) helped Fort Wayne Mad Ants win their game against the Stockton Kings (12-9) 122-108 in the NBA G League on Monday night. He scored 11 points and added 7 assists in 28 minutes. The Fort Wayne Mad Ants have 12-11 record this season. This year Hollins averages 6.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 7.6apg and 2.2spg in 21 games.

   #6. Earl Watson (6'7''-C-90, played in 2012-13, currently in Spain) helped Rio Ourense Termal win their game against the 14th-ranked Araberri 94-85 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Sunday night's game. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Watson has relatively good stats this season 11.3ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.2bpg.

   #7. Junior Saintel (6'7''-G/F-95, played in 2014-16, plays pro in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Bodegas Rioja Vega Logrono (8-8) in their last game. Despite Saintel's good performance the seventh-placed Bodegas Rioja Vega Logrono was badly defeated 92-74 on the road by the higher-ranked (#5) Azpeitia ISB in the West group. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. Saintel has relatively good stats this year 11.3ppg and 4.8rpg in 16 games. He is a naturalized Haitian.

   #8. Cinmeon Bowers (6'7''-F-93, played in 2012-14, plays in Serbia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams FMP in their game against Cibona in the ABA League. He scored only 4 points. His team was badly defeated by 19 points 90-71. This season Bowers averages 5.0ppg and 2.5rpg.

   #9. Sam Cassell Jr. (6'4''-G-92, played in 2012-14, currently in Germany) was the major contributor in Herford's victory against the tenth-ranked Dortmund crushing them 92-64 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Cassell Jr. had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 35 minutes. Cassell Jr. has very impressive stats this year 19.7ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.2apg and 1.4spg in 14 games.
