Chipola's Comeback Not Enough Against Cowley

The Indians ten-run comeback wasn't enough as they fell 20-12 to Cowley in today's NJCAA Juco World Series game.

After Cowley took an 11-1 lead, Chipola tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.

The game was tied at 12 with Cowley batting in the top of the seventh when Specht singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Cameron Gray collected four hits in defeat. Gray singled in the second, doubled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh

Cowley opened up scoring in the first inning, when Gray induced DeSimone to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Chipola College Indians Varsity evened things up at 12 in the bottom of the sixth inning when an error scored two runs for Chipola College Indians Varsity.

Chipola College Indians Varsity put up seven runs in the sixth inning. Chipola College Indians Varsity big bats were led by Parker PillsburyGray, and Alex Arauz, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Cowley scored five runs in the fourth inning. DavenportStephens, and Lill each had RBIs in the frame.

Larsen was on the mound for Cowley. He went four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out three.

Gray toed the rubber for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one. Michael CullenJacob SmithAndrew Baker, and Robert Bennett each entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings, two innings, one and one-third innings, and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The loss eliminates the Indians from the Juco World Series. Chipola finishes the season with a 38-20 record and a NJCAA Region VIII/FCSAA State Championship.
