Five runs batted in from Andrew Bechtold helped lead the Chipola Indians (8-3) past Gordon State 14-7 on Thursday. Bechtold drove in runs on a single in the third, a home run in the sixth, and a fielder's choice in the seventh.
Chipola collected 14 hits and Gordon State had 13 in the high-scoring affair
Gordon State took an early lead in the second inning. Gordon State scored one run when #2 singled with two outs in the second inning. After Gordon State scored three runs in the top of the seventh, the Indians answered with three of their own. Chipola then answered when Edmond Americaan singled off of #3, driving in one run, #3 induced Andrew Bechtold to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and there was an error, scoring one run. Chipola Indians took the lead for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third Jacob Silverstein doubled, driving in one run, Chris Clayton singled off of #14, driving in one run, Americaan doubled, driving in one run, Bechtold singled, driving in two runs, and Max Guzman singled, driving in one run.
