SJR Walks-Off Chipola, 2-1 in 10

A walk-off left the Chipola Indians (7-3) on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to St. Johns River State on Sunday. The game was tied at one with St. Johns River State batting in the bottom of the tenth when Josh Broughton singled off of Andrew Grogan, driving in one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. St. Johns River State pitchers struck out 15, while Chipola Indians sat down 17.

St. Johns River State captured the lead in the third inning. Justin Smith drove in one when he homered in the third inning. In the top of the fourth, Chipola Indians tied things up at one. Trey Dawson's sac fly scored one run.

Evan Steele started the game for Chipola Indians. He tossed five innings, surrendering one run, four hits, striking out nine, and walking zero.

Cabral came in relief and threw 3.1 innings of relief. He struck out 5 while giving up only 2 hits.
